Tesco’s annual supplier conference took place in Dublin this week, at which the retailer announced a new €3m partnership with Monaghan spring water brand Celtic Pure. Over the next two years, Celtic Pure will supply stocks of more than 2m five-litre water bottles for Tesco’s own-label “Drumlin Hills” brand.
Celtic Pure Irish Spring employs 75 people in Corcreagh, Co. Monaghan, and is owned and managed by the McEneaney family. The company has nearly doubled in size since 2017, growing its production from 80 million litres of water to 150 million litres.
Joe Manning, commercial director, Tesco Ireland, said that Celtic Pure’s growth is a testament to its innovative business approach. “We’re delighted to be stocking this product in our 151 stores nationwide,” Manning said. “We believe the Drumlin Hills Tesco brand product will be an extremely popular offering, complementing the range of all Irish sourced water that our customers know and love.
“Our partnership with Celtic Pure,” he added, “brings together two key attributes of which we’re very proud at Tesco: our commitment to supporting Irish suppliers and the provision of high quality, innovative products that customers will enjoy.
“We look forward to working with the team at Celtic Pure to strengthen our relationship now and into the future,” said Manning.
