BWG Foods, one of Ireland’s retail groups, has recently announced that its family of retail brands, including Spar, Eurospar, Mace, Londis, and XL, have surpassed €2 million in cumulative funds raised for Irish charities over the last five years.
The significant milestone reflects the collective efforts of BWG Foods’ nationwide network of over a thousand independent retailers, their teams and local customers, who have supported a diverse and wide range of charity and community initiatives over the years.
Organisations impacted
The funds have been directed towards several impactful organisations including Debra, Irish Hospice Foundation, the Simon Community and the National Breast Cancer Research Institute (NBCRI).
“Our retailers are deeply embedded in their local communities and their commitment to supporting these vital charities is truly commendable,” said Suzanne Weldon, chief marketing and communications officer, BWG Foods.
“Reaching the €2 million mark is a testament to the generosity of our customers along with the dedication and values of our store owners.
“The success of these campaigns shows the positive impact that can be achieved when our retailers and communities come together for a common cause.
“We are proud to play a role in supporting organisations that make a real difference in people’s lives.”
BWG Foods remains committed to fostering strong community ties and supporting charitable causes that are close to the hearts of both retailers and customers, continuing to make a lasting impact across Ireland.
